Opera Mini 99.6.2254.2363 for Android

Opera Mini 99.6.2254.2363 is a free mobile browser for Android developed by Opera. You can download Opera Mini for Android from Google Play; the browser has been around since August 10, 2005, and it is known as an option for phones on slow or expensive mobile connections.

About Opera Mini

Opera Mini started in the era of feature phones, when mobile internet was slow and expensive and full websites were hard to open on small screens. Its whole idea was to make browsing possible under those conditions. The modern Android version keeps that focus on light use of data and resources while offering the usual features of a mobile browser: tabs, bookmarks, downloads and a start page with quick links. That makes it attractive for budget phones with little memory, for prepaid data plans, for travel with roaming and for regions where the network is often congested. On a powerful phone with unlimited data, the benefits are less noticeable, and a full browser may feel more natural. Opera releases new builds often: in 2026 there were updates in February, May, June and July before this version.

How to install it

1. Open the Opera Mini page on Google Play and tap Install.
2. Launch the app and go through the welcome screens.
3. Check the data-saving and notification options in the settings.
4. Make it the default browser in Android settings if you want links to open there.

Privacy and safety

A browser handles your passwords and sessions, so install it only from Google Play or opera.com. Review which notifications and personalised content you allow, clear browsing data from time to time and keep the app updated. Avoid modified APK versions that claim to remove ads: they are a common source of malware and do not receive security fixes.

Price and size

Opera Mini is freeware. The file is about 57.72 MB according to catalogue data.

Getting more from it

If pages look simplified or a site does not work as expected, try reloading it or opening it in another browser once to compare. Keep an eye on the downloads folder, since saved files use phone storage, and turn off news notifications if you use the browser only for searching.

Is it right for you?

Choose Opera Mini if your phone is short on memory, your data plan is small or your connection is often weak. If you mostly browse on Wi-Fi with a new phone, compare it with a full browser for a week and keep the one that feels better.
